Early day thinking, put to paper.

One purpose for this blog about the production of Hi8 1/2 is to use the website as a teaching tool for current (and future?) students in my video classes. I always, ALWAYS stress the importance of process over final product and this web "experience", if you will, is just that--an ongoing document of the process of creating and presenting the video, Hi8 1/2.

As of today, there are several "fixes" I'd like to perform on the final documentary, all in an effort to tighten the piece and make each moment more impactful, each transition more seamless. More to follow on this.

Today, I hope to hit the post office on my way home from work to send off entry number six to the Black Maria Film and Video Festival. The other five festivals I've submitted to, since September, are: Sundance, Big Sky, Full Frame, Garden State and Independent Film Festival of Boston (however there is a red flag on the withoutabox website that says the submission has not been received for Boston. I'll have to check on that. Ugh. Part of the process, I guess!).

My next posting will describe the "private" screening held way back on October 18th for alumni and friends.
